   NEET exam will comprise 200 questions, out of which 180 questions need to be solved in 180 minutes. Time management plays a huge factor in NEET as the mode of the exam is offline. Apart from the time constraint, negative marking is another important factor that the candidates cannot undermine.

Which section to attempt first?

• Biology should be attempted first as it consists of more questions than other sections and has more weightage. 
• Biology does not contain any numericals so this section will take least time to complete, hence giving you more time to complete other sections. 
• You can complete the Bio section ideally in 45 minutes leaving more time for other difficult sections. If you complete this section within 45 minutes, it will boost your confidence. You can achieve this timing by giving more and more mock tests.

How to attempt the Biology section efficiently?

Biology is divided into two more sections:

1. Zoology
2. Botany

In total, Biology consists of 90 questions out of 180 in the NEET Exam. 

• First you should attempt section A and mark all 35 questions. After that, Start section B.
• Section B consists of 15 questions, out of which only 10 have to be attempted. 
• If you mark more than 10 questions, the OMR machine will only take the first 10 marked questions into consideration, so attempt carefully. 
• Be careful while filling bubbles. Mark the answers side by side in the OMR Sheet after completing each question. 
• You can first attempt either zoology or botany according to your convenience. 
• Attempt more and more mock tests to manage your time and solve biology in just 45 minutes.

• For attempting 90% of the chemistry questions, read NCERT by heart. 
• Direct formula based questions in physical chemistry must be done at the beginning as they take less time and are easy. Named reactions should be learned by heart and attempt questions fastly in organic chemistry.

How to reduce negative marking?

• Control your urge to attempt all the questions. 
• When giving mock tests, cultivate a habit to bubble side by side, it will help you to manage time, if you mark for more number of questions in one go, there are many chances that you mark wrong and get negative marking. 
• Sometimes we don’t read the word “not” in do not, sometimes we take numerical value other than what is written in question so to avoid such mistakes make a habit to read any question twice, so that you know that you are answering correctly.

What to do after attempting the mock?

2. Revise Mock

Analyse your performance

• Analyze the questions you attempted wrong and the questions you attempted right ASAP after each test. Figure out whether you were having complete knowledge of the questions you attempted right or not. 
• For the questions, you attempted wrong, understand why you committed the mistakes. Identify topics where you are going repeatedly wrong and work out ways to eliminate silly errors. 
• While you are analyzing the mock tests make sure, you note down and star mark those questions which you were having no idea about. You can write such questions in your notes and can revise them in the end or periodically.

Revise Mock

• Revising all mock tests is not possible, but you can revise the star-marked questions that you noted while analyzing the mock tests. 
• Do not forget to revise those tests entirely that you really think threw some new concepts at you and will be important for the NEET exam.
